Friday, March 31's MLB schedule includes the second contest of a four-game series between the Cleveland Guardians (0-1) and Seattle Mariners (1-0).

The Mariners came out on the right side of a pitching duel yesterday, pulling off a 3-0 win over the Guardians. Seattle starting pitcher Luis Castillo struck out six batters with one hit allowed over six innings while first baseman Ty France racked up three hits, a home run and a trio of RBIs.

Can the Guardians have a better offensive showing tonight? Or will the Mariners stand tall at home again?

Guardians vs Mariners Prediction & Pick

The Guardians look to Hunter Gaddis to help make up for yesterday's loss. The former Georgia State product only appeared in two MLB games last season, but it didn't go well, allowing 15 earned runs on as many hits in just two starts. Nevertheless, Gaddis pitched to a 2.77 ERA over 13 spring training innings, leaving time to tell if he can keep that success going.

Meanwhile, the Mariners counter with former Cy Young winner Robbie Ray. The veteran southpaw is coming off a campaign where he went 12-12 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.190 WHIP in 32 starts. It's worth noting that his ERA at T-Mobile Park (3.02) was significantly better than it was on the road (4.69) in 2022.

A clear-cut pitching advantage leads to my siding with the Mariners tonight. Ray can pitch with the best of them when he's gone a game, whereas Gaddis still must prove that he can succeed in the regular season.

After the Guardians did nothing on four hits last night, look for the Mariners' pitching staff to deliver another win.

Final Score Prediction: Mariners: 4 | Guardians: 2

Guardians vs Mariners Best Bet

Whenever the Mariners face the Guardians, there's a good chance that Ty France will contribute offensively. The talented first baseman has now tallied six RBIs in his last five games against Cleveland, finishing with at least one in four of those contests. Furthermore, he has seven RBIs in his last eight outings at T-Mobile Park.

After a three-RBI performance yesterday and Gaddis' lack of Big-League experience, I see France finishing with at least one RBI tonight.

Bet: Ty France to Record 1+ RBI (+150)
