Week 9 of the 2023 XFL season is here, bringing another slate of exciting matchups. One showdown on the docket for this Saturday is a clash between the Orlando Guardians and San Antonio Brahmas at the Alamodome.

After their first win of the campaign, the Guardians returned to their losing ways last week with an 18-16 defeat at the hands of the Arlington Renegades. On the other hand, the Brahmas are coming off back-to-back losses, most recently losing 17-15 in overtime to the Houston Roughnecks.

Guardians vs Brahmas Prediction & Pick

This matchup marks the second and final meeting between the Guardians and Brahmas this season. The two sides collided in Orlando back in Week 2, resulting in a lopsided 30-12 victory for the Brahmas quarterback Jack Coan threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns with an interception in the victory.

Now the Brahmas are the home team, which should work in their favor. The Guardians have yet to taste victory on the road this season. That unfortunate statistic has a lot to do with their allowing 30-plus points in two of those losses while being held to 12 or fewer in a pair as well.

With Orlando also having the XFL's worst defense while San Antonio owns the best, I'm giving the edge to the Brahmas.

Guardians vs Brahmas Best Bet

It's a no-brainer for me to back the Brahmas covering the spread this weekend. Winning by at least two points shouldn't be a problem considering how all but one of the Guardians' seven losses has come by multi-point margins. Besides, Orlando is awful on the road and will have issues scoring against the best defense in the league.

It won't be a pretty victory, but the Brahmas have what it takes to cover as the 1.5-point favorites.
