Group D Odds, Schedule & Predictions for 2022 World Cup (France and Denmark Cruise to Knockout Stage)

The 2022 World Cup is here, and that means soccer fans' attention will turn to Qatar for the next two months.

First up is group stage action with eight groups of four teams each playing a round-robin to determine which two teams will advance to the knockout stage.

Fans will pay close attention to Group D to witness France's run toward a second straight World Cup title. Group D consists of France, Australia, Denmark and Tunisia. We've also gone ahead and ranked them by FanDuel Sportsbook's World Cup odds for each team to win the group.

The odds paint an easy path for the top two teams in Group D. Team France enters the group stage with comfortable -180 odds to advance and are followed closely by Denmark at +210 odds. Both Tunisia and Australia are considered longshots at +2400 and +2700, respectively.

World Cup Group D Prediction

The main storyline heading into Group D revolves around Denmark's recent string of success over the defending World Cup champion France. Denmark defeated France twice in UEFA Nations League play this year.

A pair of injuries to French stars Christopher Nkunku and Karim Benzema leave the defending champs slightly vulnerable, and I think Denmark will play them to a draw.

Unfortunately, neither Tunisia nor Australia will put up much of a fight. Denmark and France will both rally two victories against the aforementioned bottom-dwellers in this group.

The winner of this group will come down to goal differential if both Denmark and France leave with 2-1-0 records. I think France's Kylian Mbappé provides the difference and the French win the group after blowing out both Tunisia and Australia.
