The 2022-23 NBA season continues with eight games slated for Monday, Dec. 5, including an exciting tilt between the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. The Grizzlies have been picking up steam lately, winning for the fourth time in their last five outings with Sunday's 122-112 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Meanwhile, the Heat are also as hot as can be, winning four of their last five contests. Their latest victory came in the form of a 120-116 overtime effort against the Boston Celtics on Friday, highlighted by Jimmy Butler's 25-point, 15-rebound double-double, along with Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro combining for 54 points.

Can the Grizzlies extend their successful run against their upcoming opponent? Or will the well-rested Heat prove to be too tough of a challenge?

Grizzlies vs. Heat Odds & Spread

  • All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
  • Moneyline: MEM: (-118) | MIA: (+100)
  • Spread: MEM: -1.5 (-108) | MIA: +1.5 (-112)
  • Total: 224 -- Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

The Grizzlies enter this contest as slight home favorites on the moneyline and spread per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 8 p.m. ET clash also features an over/under of 224 points, which is right in the middle of Monday's projected totals.

Grizzlies vs. Heat Betting Trends

  • The Grizzlies went 51-30-1 ATS last season.
  • As 2.5-point underdogs or more, the Heat went 14-4 against the spread last year.
  • Last season, 42 Grizzlies games went over the point total.
  • The Heat had 46 of their 82 games go over the point total last year.

Grizzlies vs. Heat Prediction & Pick

The Grizzlies have bee one of the best teams at home this year, winning eight of 10 games at FedExForum thus far. They also own the plus-9.4 scoring margin at home (No. 6), where they hold opponents to the second-worst field-goal percentage (44.5%) and three-point rating (30.8%).

Needless to say, the Heat will likely run into some issues tonight. Miami is an abysmal 3-8 straight up on the road, averaging 107.8 points (No. 26) and 15.3 turnovers per game (T-No. 18) away from FTX Arena. On top of that, the Heat have lost seven of their last 11 trips to Memphis.

The Grizzlies are just too good of a team at home for the Heat to beat. Memphis has won 38 of its last 51 home games for a reason and unless Miami comes out with one of its best road performances to date, the Grizzlies have the edge tonight.

Final Score Prediction: Grizzlies: 118 | Heat: 112

Grizzlies vs. Heat Best Bet

Ja Morant hasn't done much against the Heat in his career, averaging just 15.4 points in five previous matchups. Though Morant has improved a lot since last facing Miami in October 2021, I don't see him going over tonight's projected total of 29.5 points. He's finished with under that total in four of his last five games and will likely be somewhat tired from yesterday's victory.

Erring on the side of caution, back Morant to finish with fewer than 29.5 points.

Bet: Ja Morant — Under 29.5 Points (-122)
