Best Buffalo Bills Running Backs of All Time

3. Fred Jackson (2007-2014)

Fred Jackson was a fan favorite of the Bills Mafia, rarely needing the spotlight, but putting together terrific performances on some pretty bad teams. Starting just 61 of his 106 games played, Jackson ranks third in Bills history for rushing yards (5,646) and fourth in rushing touchdowns (31). He added another 2,640 yards and 7 touchdowns in the receiving game. Jackson spent time in the CIF and NFL Europe before making it to the Bills, but he certainly fought and earned his way onto this list.

2. Thurman Thomas (1988-99)

Thurman Thomas is the all-time leading rushing in Bills history, totaling 11,938 yards. He is also the leader with 65 rushing touchdowns and added another 22 touchdowns as a receiver. He was the best player on four Super Bowl teams for the Bills, shown by his 190-yard performance in Super Bowl XXV.

1. O.J. Simpson (1969-77)

O.J. Simpson ranks second in both franchise rushing yards (10,183) and rushing touchdowns (57). He became the NFL's first 2,000-yard rusher in 1973, when he needed just 14 games to rack up 2,003 yards. He led the league in rushing four times and was an All-Pro for five consecutive seasons from 1972 to 1976. His peak wasn't a long one, but Simpson was unstoppable in his prime.
