Giants vs Eagles Divisional Round Game Info

2022-23 NFL Playoffs — NFC Divisional Round Game
New York Giants (9-7-1, 4-4 Away) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (14-3, 7-2 Home)
Date: Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023
Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
Venue: Lincoln Financial Field – Philadelphia, PA
Coverage: FOX

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, NFC rivals and foes, are set to face off for the third time this season when they meet for a Divisional Round playoff matchup.

The Giants went into Minnesota and upset the No. 3 seed Vikings with an impressive 31-23 win, backed by a career-best performance from quarterback Daniel Jones in his first playoff start. The Eagles rode their 14-3 record to a first-round bye and have had the week off. The last time the Eagles played was against a Giants team resting most of its starters in Week 18.

Can the Giants continue their early postseason magic, or will Philadelphia overpower them once again?

Giants vs Eagles Prediction & Pick

The Giants actually played the Eagles better in Week 18 with Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley resting on the sidelines than they did in Week 14 with everyone on the field. The Giants lost Week 14 by a score of 48-22. That was also during a stretch where the Giants went 0-3-1 and probably looked at their worst this season.

This game could be much closer for a few reasons. The Giants and Daniel Jones were clicking on all cylinders against the Vikings in the first round of the playoffs. Also, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has clearly affected his play. Head coach Nick Sirianni admits he expects that shoulder to still be an issue in the Divisional Round, but unless something changes, Hurts will play.

Being favored by a touchdown is a whole lot in the playoffs. Of the three teams favored by at least a touchdown in the playoffs, only one has covered so far. It's incredibly tough to beat a team three times in one season, but I do expect the Eagles to do that. The Giants will just make it much closer than before.

Final Score Prediction: Giants: 20 | Eagles: 24

Giants vs Eagles Betting Trends

- The Giants are 5-0 ATS in their last five games.
- The Giants are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against NFC opponents (including one against PHI).
- Philadelphia is 5-0 ATS in its last five Divisional Playoff games.
- The total has hit the under in all four of Philadelphia's last four playoff games.

Giants vs Eagles Best Bet

While the Giants' offense is rolling coming off the win against the Vikings, expect things to be more difficult against a much better Eagles defense. Conversely, the Giants defense made stops when it needed to, and in Week 18, held this Eagles team to 22 points. Considering Hurts is still dealing with the same injury he was two weeks ago, we could see a similar performance in the playoff game.

With a lot of people probably riding the over expecting Hurts to come out swinging and the Giants able to keep pace, I'm taking the under for those reasons above.

Bet: Under 47.5 (-115)
