Georgia Opens as Massive Home Favorite Over Oregon in Early Odds for Week 1

Updated:

Although there aren't any college football games for another few months, that hasn't stopped fans from looking ahead to the 2022 NCAAF season. Week 1's slate of games will include a huge matchup between the Oregon Ducks and Georgia Bulldogs.

FanDuel Sportsbook already has NCAAF odds on that matchup and is currently projecting Georgia to beat Oregon in a big way.

Oregon vs Georgia 2022 Spread

FanDuel Sportsbook is listing Georgia as the massive 16.5-point home favorites ahead of their upcoming clash against Georgia. The Bulldogs have -110 odds to cover the spread, while the Ducks also sit at -110 to cover as the 16.5-point underdogs.

Georgia being heavily favored shouldn't be a surprise after the Bulldogs beat the Alabama Crimson Tide back in January to capture the 2022 CFP National Championship.

Even though Georgia lost 10 players to the 2022 NFL Draft, they're one of the top schools when it comes to recruiting and shouldn't miss a beat next fall. Still, all eyes will be on Georgia's defense to see how it performs after allowing only 10.4 PPG last season (No. 1).

Meanwhile, the Ducks are looking to rebound after they lost three of their final four games to close out the 2021 campaign. They ranked as high as the No. 3 team at multiple points in the year but closed out the campaign at No. 22.

This matchup will only be the second-ever between the two schools. Georgia won their inaugural meeting, 27-16, way back in 1977, leaving time to tell who'll get the victory in the Bulldogs' first meeting against the Ducks in 45 years.
