General Motors/Netflix Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Features Actor Will Ferrell Promoting Electric Vehicles

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty of star-studded commercials are on the way. General Motors and Netflix have teamed up in the fun this year with a commercial promoting electric vehicles starring actor Will Ferrell.

General Motors/Netflix Super Bowl Commercial 2023

The message was instantly clear as Ferrell announced that Netflix will include electric vehicles (EV) in their original productions as a part of General Motors' (GM) move to go electric. He was driving one of GM's cars through a zombie hoard when one of the undead bites him on his wrist through the window.

The scene was a play on one of the platform's popular movies "Army of the Dead." Ferrell is then taken on a journey through some of Netflix's other top performers. He is voluntarily kidnapped in a "Squid Game" scene before walking down a courtyard aisle in a setting right out of "Bridgerton."

Ferrell finds himself in the upside-down as he portrays Dusty from "Stranger Things" before he helps a runaway bride from "Love is Blind" alongside Jonathan Van Ness from "Queer Eye." The ad includes a full-circle ending as Ferrell drives off as a zombie with the one that bit him in the passenger's seat.

Will Ferrell Super Bowl Commercial

Will Ferrell notably partnered with GM back in 2021 when the release of their electric vehicles was first announced. The campaign featured a 60-second Super Bowl ad titled "No Way Norway" that tracked well with viewers. It'll be interesting to see if the same success is found this time around.
