Game-by-Game Predictions for the Raiders' Entire 2022 Schedule

The Las Vegas Raiders are coming off of their first playoff appearance since 2016, but it's clear this team has even bigger aspirations heading into the 2022 campaign. Las Vegas enjoyed a splashy offseason headlined by the additions of Davante Adams and Chandler Jones that put this squad in great position to contend in a loaded AFC West.

How the Raiders perform against their division rivals will likely set the tone for their potential Super Bowl dreams.

Here are our week-by-week predictions for Las Vegas' entire 2022-23 schedule.

Raiders Game-by-Game Predictions 2022

1. Sunday, Sept. 11: Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers

The Raiders' season-opener against the Los Angeles Chargers should be an electric start. These two high-powered offenses will look to have their way against defenses that both brought in major pieces this offseason. Jones was the defensive highlight for Las Vegas this spring, but Rock Ya-Sin and Anthony Averett will bolster the cornerback corps.

Speaking of secondaries, LA nabbed star corner J.C. Jackson in free agency, forming an imposing unit alongside Asante Samuel Jr. and Derwin James. That trio could pose significant problems for the Raiders as they work Adams into the passing attack, giving the Chargers' relatively unchanged offense a slight edge.

Prediction: Raiders lose (0-1)

2. Sunday, Sept. 18: Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals

A close loss in Week 1 should get the Raiders even more motivated for their 2022 home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona will be at big disadvantage with DeAndre Hopkins out due to a suspension and 2021 receiving leader Christian Kirk no longer on the roster. This will be just the second game for Kyler Murray and new top wideout Marquise Brown as well, so they'll still be developing their connection.

Derek Carr and Adams likely won't need a ton of time to reignite the spark they had in college. That duo, plus the likes of Hunter Renfrow, Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs should be able to overwhelm the Cards.

Prediction: Raiders win (1-1)

3. Sunday, Sept. 25: Raiders @ Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans present another opponent who appears out-gunned from the jump. The Titans will be adjusting to life without star wideout A.J. Brown, whose absence severely downgrades their passing game. Ryan Tannehill must rely on newcomer Robert Woods (who's coming off of an ACL tear) and rookie WR Treylon Burks from the jump, so there's sure to be growing pains.

If that receiving corps stays this mediocre, it'll allow Las Vegas to focus on stopping Derrick Henry and a one-trick offense.

Prediction: Raiders win (2-1)

4. Sunday, Oct. 2: Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

This is a huge early-season test. The Raiders swept the Broncos in 2021, but Russell Wilson is now in Denver, putting a former Super Bowl-winning QB in the way of a top spot in the division. It's worth wondering, though, what Wilson will look like after a down 2021 season. He also downgraded in terms of his pass-catchers after his move, while Carr is working with a trio of stars in Adams, Renfrow and Waller.

With Wilson still early into his Denver tenure, the Raiders defend home field here.

Prediction: Raiders win (3-1)

5. Monday, Oct. 10: Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are another team that underwent massive changes this offseason, seeing Tyreek Hill, Tyrann Mathieu and Charvarius Ward all depart. The loss of Mathieu and Ward will certainly be felt on defense, and replacing Hill's unique skill set is a huge challenge.

Despite that, it's hard to shake off the Chiefs' dominance against Las Vegas last season. KC hung a combined 89 points in two games and held the Raiders to 14 points or fewer both times. Adams' arrival should help keep things closer, but Patrick Mahomes and company get the advantage at Arrowhead.

Prediction: Raiders lose (3-2)

6. BYE WEEK

7. Sunday, Oct. 23: Raiders vs. Houston Texans

Week 7 should pose little problems for the Raiders. They'll come in refreshed after the bye, and they draw the Houston Texans, who figure to be bottom-dwellers in the AFC once again.

Prediction: Raiders win (4-2)

8. Sunday, Oct. 30: Raiders @ New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints added major ammunition on both sides of the ball this offseason. Their secondary weathered the loss of Marcus Williams by adding Marcus Maye and Mathieu in free agency. They also upgraded a poor WR room by signing Jarvis Landry and drafting Chris Olave.

The big question that remains is at quarterback. Jameis Winston is coming off of a major injury, and there's no telling if he'll look the same as his blistering 2021 start. Still, this offense has all the talent to give the Raiders fits, and New Orleans' elite defense could end up as the deciding factor.

Prediction: Raiders lose (4-3)

9. Sunday, Nov. 6: Raiders @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The retooled Jacksonville Jaguars figure to be competitive at least some weeks this season. That still shouldn't be an issue for the Raiders, who avoid falling to .500 here.

Prediction: Raiders win (5-3)

10. Sunday, Nov. 13: Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts

Week 10 sees the Indianapolis Colts arrive in town looking for revenge after last year's last-second defeat. Indy will have a new QB under center in Matt Ryan, who should be a clear upgrade over Carson Wentz. The Colts didn't improve at wide receiver, though, trotting out a similarly underwhelming group this year while Jonathan Taylor leads out of the backfield.

The Raiders' all-around talent on offense should help push them over the top in another close battle.

Prediction: Raiders win (6-3)

11. Sunday, Nov. 20: Raiders @ Broncos

Though fans want another 2-0 record against the Broncos, it's hard to see it. Wilson will have adjusted to new his home by Week 11, and he'll surely look to make up for the Week 4 defeat at the hands of the Raiders. Denver also enters this contest following a Week 9 bye and a relatively easy Week 10 game against Tennessee, so the Broncos should have plenty of juice to make sure they avoid a season sweep.

Prediction: Raiders lose (6-4)

12. Sunday, Nov. 27: Raiders @ Seattle Seahawks

Las Vegas luckily gets a bounce-back spot in Week 12. The Seattle Seahawks are a shoe-in to be competing for a top NFL Draft spot by this point with Drew Lock or Geno Smith under center. A blowout performance would help the Raiders' stars rest up for a huge meeting in Week 13.

Prediction: Raiders win (7-4)

13. Sunday, Dec. 4: Raiders vs. Chargers

This rematch figures to feature plenty of fireworks. Las Vegas and LA will both be fighting for playoff seeding at this stage of the year, setting up an intense division clash. The Chargers enter this contest after a test in Week 12 against the Cardinals, while the Seahawks present a much weaker opponent for the Raiders heading into this one. Las Vegas learns from its loss in Week 1 and exacts revenge with Adams fully integrated into the offense by now.

Prediction: Raiders win (8-4)

14. Thursday, Dec. 8: Raiders @ Los Angeles Rams

The Raiders face a tough challenge in Week 14 against the defending Super Bowl champions. While both teams must play on just three days rest, the Los Angeles Rams will be coming off of a likely blowout against Seattle. The Raiders, meanwhile, have just a handful of days to recover from what's to be hard-fought Week 13. The Rams' elite pass rush also figures to be a nightmare for Las Vegas' average offensive line.

Prediction: Raiders lose (8-5)

15. Sunday, Dec. 18: Raiders vs. New England Patriots

This matchup is one the Raiders' new regime may have circled on their calendars. New GM Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels both came over from New England this offseason, so they'll want to look good against some old faces. Carr and this loaded offense should make them very happy with a win here.

Prediction: Raiders win (9-5)

16. Saturday, Dec. 24: Raiders @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Though the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to bounce back defensively this year, the offense is a major question mark. Mitchell Trubisky could be under center after flaming out with the Chicago Bears, or it may be rookie Kenny Pickett's time to show what he's got if the team is struggling. Regardless, it's difficult to see either keeping pace with the embarrassment of riches on the Raiders' offense.

Prediction: Raiders win (10-5)

17. Sunday, Jan. 1: Raiders vs. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers showed their true power with everything clicking last season. This team figures to be a Super Bowl contender once again, especially if second-year QB Trey Lance can at least perform similarly as Jimmy Garoppolo. There's serious potential for Lance's dual-threat abilities to make him even better than his predecessor, too.

Kyle Shanahan has proven he can win despite mediocre QB play thanks to a top defense, making this 49ers team a nightmare.

Prediction: Raiders lose (10-6)

18. Sunday, Jan. 8: Raiders vs. Chiefs

If the Chiefs' record does take a hit in 2022 following their personnel losses, they could be fighting for their playoff lives here. Facing a Mahomes-led team with its back up against the wall is far from an ideal scenario to be in. This meeting might not also have a ton of meaning for the Raiders, who'd be in prime playoff positioning with a 10-6 record entering this contest.

Prediction: Raiders lose (10-7)
