Seahawks Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season

The Seattle Seahawks' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign is a home game against the Los Angeles Rams. Last season, they opened with a home game on Sunday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks emerged victorious by a score of 17-16 as quarterback Geno Smith tallied 2 passing touchdowns.

Seahawks' 2023 Strength of Schedule

According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Seahawks have the 16th-hardest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 campaign. This is based on the projected win totals of Seattle's opponents for the upcoming season. The Seahawks rank right in the middle of the pack, meaning the opportunity for them to make the playoffs could come down to the final few weeks of the regular season.

The Seahawks' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 126-109-2 last season. They'll face a trio of teams in the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals that won at least 12 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Seahawks at 8.5 wins, with -132 odds on the over and +106 odds on the under. Seattle won nine games during the 2022-23 season and has recorded at least nine wins in 10 of the last 11 NFL campaigns overall.

The Seahawks scratched and clawed their way to the playoffs last season with a 9-8 record as QB Geno Smith was named Comeback Player of the Year. Smith is back as the starter and he is joined by a solid free agent signing in linebacker Bobby Wagner and a great addition in rookie wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Seattle made upgrades on both sides of the ball and will face six teams this fall that posted a losing record in 2022. Two of them reside in their own division (Arizona Cardinals & Los Angeles Rams). Anything but a winning year from this underrated Seattle team would be surprising.

Bet – Seahawks: Over 8.5 Wins (-132)

In the Super Bowl market, the Seahawks currently are tied (with the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers) for the 15th-best odds at +4000. Seattle trails the San Francisco 49ers (+950) in the NFC West, but checks in well ahead of the Los Angeles Rams (+6000) and Arizona Cardinals (+18000).
