The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign is a road game against the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, they opened with a road game on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. The Buccaneers won by a score of 19-3 as running back Leonard Fournette tallied 127 yards on the ground.

This is based on the projected win totals of Tampa Bay's opponents for the upcoming season. The Buccaneers rank just above the middle of the pack, which gives either Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask a chance to make an impression as the team's new starting quarterback.

The Buccaneers' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 117-118-2 last season. They'll face a trio of teams in the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts that lost at least 12 games during the 2022-23 campaign.
