Florida vs Oregon State Las Vegas Bowl Game Info

2022 College Football Game - Las Vegas Bowl
Florida Gators (6-6) vs. No. 14 Oregon State Beavers (9-3)
Date: Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Venue: Allegiant Stadium — Las Vegas, NV

With the 2022-23 college football regular season in the rearview mirror, bowl games are right around the corner. The Las Vegas Bowl is set for kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 17, and pits the Florida Gators against the No. 14 Oregon State Beavers. This will be Florida's first appearance at the Las Vegas Bowl, while it will be Oregon State's third.

Florida finished the season with a 6-6 record, which is widely seen as a disappointment considering the Gators spent three of the first four weeks ranked in the AP Poll. Meanwhile, Oregon State racked up nine wins for the first time since 2012 and now enters December on a thrilling three-game winning streak.

Florida vs Oregon State Prediction & Pick

It's important to note off the top that Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson has declared for the NFL Draft and won't be playing in this game. That is a huge loss for the Gators as the 21-year-old accounted for 2,549 passing yards, 654 rushing yards and 26 total touchdowns in the regular season.

Without Richardson, Florida has little chance to keep up with an Oregon State offense that has put up at least 31 points in each of its last three games. The Beavers rank 26th in rushing yards per game (197.9) and run the football 61.3% of the time (No. 11 in FBS). That is not good news for the Gators.

Florida allows over 200 rushing yards per away game this season and Allegiant Stadium is certainly far from home. Look for the Beavers' fan base to travel well here and make a big difference, too.

Final Score Prediction: Florida: 21 | Oregon State: 34

Florida vs Oregon State Best Bet

There's no denying that Oregon State has all of the momentum going in their favor heading into the Las Vegas Bowl. The Beavers are still flying high after taking down Oregon in a come-from-behind victory to end the year. Florida is reeling after losing each of its last two games by a touchdown.

It's worth mentioning that the Gators are just 1-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games in December, while the Beavers are 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall. Oregon State is also 5-0 ATS in its last five games as a favorite, meaning it's not afraid to keep its foot on the pedal late in the game.

Bet: Oregon State Beavers -8.5 (-110)
