The Fiesta Bowl has been played since 1971. It has taken place in Glendale since 2006, and has been known as the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl since 2016.

Notre Dame has a 1-4 record in five all-time appearances in the Fiesta Bowl. They lost to Ohio State, 44-28, in their most recent appearance in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl.

Oklahoma State has a 2-0 record in two all-time appearances in the Fiesta Bowl. They defeated Stanford 41-38, in overtime, in their most recent appearance in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl.
