Fantasy Football Strength of Schedule 2022: 5 Teams With Easiest Schedules to Target

Fantasy Football Strength of Schedule 2022

Fantasy football drafts are all about trying to best project the future. There's times, though, when managers must decide over two players expected to have very similar roles, leading to panic and stress as the draft clock ticks down.

That's where fantasy football strength of schedule can help. SOS shouldn't be a starting point for draft decisions, but it's a useful tiebreaker when managers are split on a handful of options.

With that in mind, here are the five teams with the easiest strength of schedule for fantasy football in 2022, according to data from FantasyPros.

Fantasy Strength of Schedule by Position 2022

5. Buffalo Bills

Playing in the AFC East is certainly a big perk for any Buffalo Bills player you're considering drafting this year. Buffalo will draw the New York Jets twice in 2022 after they finished dead-last in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric. The Bills face three other teams (Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers) that finished in the bottom 11 in DVOA last season as well, which is great news for an offense full of fantasy relevant players like Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.

4. Tennessee Titans

The AFC South is another great place to be in for fantasy. The Tennessee Titans will have four games against the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars after those squads finished No. 23 and No. 32 in DVOA, respectively. This division also faces the similarly lowly NFC East in 2022, meaning matchups versus the Washington Commanders (No. 27 in DVOA), Philadelphia Eagles (No. 25) and New York Giants (No. 18). This results in a four-star rating (out of five) for the Titans' RBs, setting Derrick Henry up to feast in 2022.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

Speaking of the Jaguars, they're in an even better spot than the Titans. Though Jacksonville and Tennessee share a similar schedule, the former gets tasty matchups against the Detroit Lions (No. 29 in DVOA), Baltimore Ravens (No. 28) and New York Jets (No. 32) that the latter will not. Jacksoville is one of only two teams with a five-star rating for QB schedule, which could help Trevor Lawrence hit a new fantasy level and boost wide receiving options like Christian Kirk as well.

2. New England Patriots

In terms of all-around favorable schedules, few compare to the New England Patriots. The Pats are one of only two teams with four-star matchups across the four main positions (QB/RB/WR/TE), thanks to being in the AFC East and drawing underperforming defenses from the NFC (Lions, Packers) and AFC North (Ravens). Though New England's highest-ranked player in average draft position is Damien Harris at No. 67 overall, this schedule could help the likes of Rhamondre Stevenson (ADP 107), Hunter Henry (ADP 138) and DeVante Parker (ADP 145) end up being values if they thrive against lesser competition.

1. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are the other group with four-star ratings for the main fantasy positions. Playing the Giants and Eagles four times total boosts their fantasy potential, plus they draw the Jaguars, Packers and Atlanta Falcons (No. 30 in DVOA last season) in 2022. They'll play a whopping five games against bottom-11 teams in DVOA from a year ago. That makes Antonio Gibson (ADP 38) and Terry McLaurin (ADP 41) even more attractive early targets, but it could also warrant considering late fliers on JD McKissic (ADP 140) or Jahan Dotson (ADP 176).
