With all four majors on the golf calendar done, PGA Tour pros move their attention to the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club.
The field is stronger than it was last week at the 3M Open but not major-level strong. Let's take a look at three players to consider for your fantasy team ahead of the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Rocket Mortgage Classic 2022 Fantasy Picks
Will Zalatoris Fantasy
Will Zalatoris has been knocking on the door a lot lately but cant seem to get over the hump to raise that trophy. He has six top-10 finishes in his last 10 starts. Including three top-five finishes at the first three majors of the year, against far more elite competition than he will see this week. He's only played in this event once before in 2021 and finished 77th, but he wasn't playing at the high level he is now. Zalatoris ranks No. 11 in Strokes Gained (SG): Off-The-Tee, No. 1 in SG: Approach The Green, No. 2 in SG: Tee-To-Green and No. 7 in SG: Total.
Cam Davis Fantasy
Cam Davis is the returning champion here and he can still be had at a solid price considering that resume. What's even more encouraging is his recent form. His last three starts, he has finished T8, 6th and T16. He's got a total of five top-10 finishes this season and could be in a great position to add another here, or even another win.
Rocket Mortgage Classic Sleepers 2022
Cameron Champ Fantasy
Champ has had a very up and down season and last week he actually ended a five-start streak of missed cuts, but grabbed a solid T16. His driving distance will be key here (he ranks No. 10 on Tour in SG: Off-The-Tee), but it won't be able to completely overcome poor iron play or short game, he'll need to have both of those areas cleaned up like he did last week to have any shot. That being said, getting back on the right side of the cutline last week should give him some confidence and momentum to make a similar run here and out perform his pricing/odds.
