FanDuel Fantasy Basketball Picks & Lineup Tonight for 1/3/2023 (Fire Up Tatum vs Thunder's Defense)

Here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 1/3, NBA DFS action.

NBA DFS Picks Tonight 1/3/2023

Jayson Tatum Fantasy

Target Jayson Tatum, PF/SF, Boston Celtics ($11,000): Jayson Tatum continues to light it up in Boston, recording 57 FanDuel fantasy points or more in three of his last six games. Now Tatum draws a hapless Oklahoma City Thunder defense that's allowing the sixth-most points per game to opponents, setting Tatum up to feast as a scorer and distributor. OKC also gives up the most rebounds per contest, so it'd be no surprise to see the Celtics' star flirt with a triple-double in this one.

Jordan Clarkson Fantasy

Target Jordan Clarkson, PG/SG, Utah Jazz ($8,100): Jordan Clarkson faces a Sacramento Kings team on Tuesday that he just torched four nights ago. Clarkson exploited this vulnerable defense, lighting them up for 25 points, 9 assists and 47.3 fantasy points. Clarkson's on a heater currently, putting up at least 21 points in each of his last seven outings, giving him a very nice floor. He could boom again against the Kings, who are seventh in most PPG allowed.

Trey Lyles Fantasy

Target Trey Lyles, PF, Sacramento Kings ($4,700): We'll stick in that same game given the amount of action expected in a matchup of two weak defenses. Trey Lyles is surging as of late, notching at least 21 fantasy points in every game over his last five while averaging 8.4 PPG and 7.2 RPG. His uptick in playing time is especially encouraging, as the big man's seeing an average of 21.8 minutes a night during this stretch. With his current production and usage trending up, Lyles is an excellent candidate to return value tonight.

Jrue Holiday Fantasy

Avoid Jrue Holiday, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks ($8,300): Jrue Holiday is set to return to the lineup on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean he needs to be in your lineups right away. A player coming back from a multi-game absence due to illness should immediately raise red flags, as we've seen several stars struggle this season once they take the court again. Holiday's been sidelined for the last three contests, so that's enough to be concerned about how he'll look. The risk involved here makes Holiday an avoid.

Kyle Kuzma Fantasy

Avoid Kyle Kuzma, SF/PF, Washington Wizards ($8,300): Kyle Kuzma took advantage of the Milwaukee Bucks being without Holiday, Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo on New Year's Day, hanging a season-high 11 assists on them. However, he didn't get much going as a scorer with just 10 points, and now Holiday and Antetokounmpo will be back on the floor Tuesday. The Bucks own one of the league's best defenses, ranking No. 4 in defensive rating and No. 6 in fewest PPG surrendered. It's difficult to see Kuzma impressing at this price tag given the matchup.
