FanDuel Fantasy Basketball Picks & Lineup Tonight for 1/2/2023 (Ride Luka in Plus Matchup Once Again)

Updated:

The 2022-23 NBA season is in full swing. If you need some advice on your FanDuel fantasy basketball lineup for tonight's slate, The Duel is here to help.

Here are three players to target and two to avoid in Monday, 1/2, NBA DFS action.

NBA DFS Picks Tonight 1/2/2023

Luka Doncic Fantasy

Target Luka Doncic, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks ($12,400): No player seemingly has a higher fantasy ceiling than Luka Doncic right now. He's put up at least 75 FanDuel fantasy points in four of his past five games, including a 105-point explosion. Much of Doncic's damage during this run has come against the Houston Rockets, whom he draws once again on Monday. The MVP candidate is averaging a whopping 42.5 points, 11.5 assists and 10.0 rebounds per game in two previous meetings against Houston on Dec. 23 and Dec. 29. He's an obvious smash play in this matchup.

Jordan Poole Fantasy

Target Jordan Poole, PG/SG, Golden State Warriors ($8,100): Jordan Poole is loving life as the Golden State Warriors' No. 1 option with Stephen Curry out. Poole's averaging an impressive 29.3 PPG, plus 3.5 APG and 2.3 RPG, with Curry sidelined over the past eight contests. He's putting up a staggering 21.0 field goal attempts a night during this stretch, showing the Warriors want the scoring-minded guard to take control on offense. With the Atlanta Hawks struggling and lacking a shutdown defense, Poole should have his way once again tonight.

Drew Eubanks Fantasy

Target Drew Eubanks, PF/C, Portland Trail Blazers ($4,500): Drew Eubanks could be in line for another start on Monday with Jusuf Nurkic questionable due to an illness. Nurkic was forced to sit last time out, and Eubanks was productive, totaling 23.4 fantasy points. Eubanks has taken advantage any time Nurkic's been sidelined this season, raising his numbers across the board in games without the latter (7.8 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.0 APG) versus with him (5.5 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 0.8 APG). Eubanks is a great candidate to return 5x your money (or more) if he starts again.

Rudy Gobert Fantasy

Avoid Rudy Gobert, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($7,600): Rudy Gobert's had almost nothing going recently. He's scored fewer than 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games, continuing a rough patch for the big man. Gobert's failed to notch a double-double in each of his past four contests, which severely caps his fantasy upside if he's not going to rack up boards at a high clip. Facing a Denver team that's No. 2 in fewest opponent RPG, avoid Gobert at all costs.

Kevin Porter Jr. Fantasy

Avoid Kevin Porter Jr., PG, Houston Rockets ($8,000): Though Luka has thrived in recent Rockets-Mavs games, the same can't be said for Kevin Porter Jr. The guard's scored just 31 combined points in their two previous meetings, and he's recorded fewer than 32 fantasy points in both outings. His ceiling seems notably limited against Dallas, making him an easy avoid candidate.
