Downy Unstoppables Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Makes a Believer Out of Comedian Danny McBride

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty of star-studded commercials are on the way. Proctor & Gamble has been a regular during the big game of the year and is back to promote Downy Unstoppables with comedian Danny McBride leading the way in a funny advertisement.

Downy Unstoppables Super Bowl Commercial 2023

The commercial starts with McBride donning a sweatshirt over his face as says he was wrong about Downy Unstoppables. The product has kept his hoodie "smelling great for weeks," which now makes him a believer. He's a big enough believer that he wants to tell the world about his change of opinion.

He says to call him "Downy McBride" with a sense of playful conviction. That is when McBride takes to the streets of his neighborhood in a golf cart filled with Downy Unstoppables. He tosses the product to anyone he sees, old or young, before he wipes out because the hoodie fell back over his face.

McBride ends the ad by stating the slogan you got to "sniff it to believe it." It's important to point out Downy Unstoppables had been playing up the reveal of the celebrity in the ad with prior commercials featuring a non-believer with a hoodie drooped over their face. Of course, it ended up being McBride.

It's been five years since McBride was last in a Super Bowl commercial as he starred alongside Chris Hemsworth in a viral ad for Australian tourism. The star of the TV show "The Righteous Gemstones" was the perfect fit here as viewers could play along with reveal given how iconic McBride's voice is.
