DeSean Jackson Reveals Two Teams He Wants to Play for in 2022

Updated:

Although he hasn't played a live snap of NFL football during the 2022 regular season, wide receiver DeSean Jackson made it quite clear he's not retired. Rather, it seems he's waiting for the perfect opportunity to return to play.

The former three-time Pro Bowler recently joined the I AM ATHLETE podcast during a live taping in Philadelphia, revealing two teams he'd like to play for this season.

Jackson was asked if he had actually retired, to which he responded emphatically "Hell nah, I ain't retried! I'm a free agent, and ready to go."

The 35-year-old then revealed his wishlist of NFL teams: the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking for the veteran wideout who hasn't played at an elite level since 2016, but these are two winning franchises.

The Packers may hold a much greater need at wide receiver, but this is a team looking to get younger with the likes of rookie wideouts Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. They already have their savvy veteran in Randall Cobb, and adding another weapon in his mid-30s doesn't quite make sense.

Jackson spent the first six years of his dynamic career in Philadelphia, but this is also a roster that's very secure at wide receiver. DeVonta Smith shined during his rookie campaign and the addition of Pro Bowler A.J. Brown only elevated the play of both wideouts.

Jackson can bring an element of the deep threat to any offense. Even at age 35, the former Eagle averaged an insane 22.7 yards per reception on the 20 balls he caught in 2021.
