Darren Waller Week 8 Injury Status Revealed for Raiders vs Saints

Updated:

After facing preseason injury concerns, Darren Waller has already been slowed down by a hamstring issue, making it through only four healthy games. He's been on the shelf since making an early exit in a Week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and Raiders fans will have to wait another week to see him back in action.

You never like to see a start offensive player on the shelf, but it's also not like Waller had exactly been a difference-maker so far this season. His last two healthy games, in Week 3 and 4, saw him catch just 3 passes while falling below 25 yards receiving in each.

Foster Moreau will start in Waller's place again after playing 96% of the Raiders' offensive snaps in last weekend's win over the Texans. He only had 3 receptions for 28 yards in that win, but he's been no stranger to make spot starts in place of Waller, as this will be his 24th start since 2019.

The other things working in the Raiders' favor this week is that Davante Adams will suit up after struggling with illness all week.

Despite missing Waller, the Raiders are 1.5-point favorites on the road against the Saints, according to today's NFL odds from FanDuel Sportsbook.
