Dark Horse Picks to Win PGA 2023 RBC Heritage at Harbour Town on FanDuel Sportsbook

Updated:

A majority of the world's top golfers will make a short 140-mile trip from The Masters Tournament to Hilton Head Island for this week's RBC Heritage at Harbour Town - an upgraded Designated Event with a $20 million prize pool.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a tree-lined positional course that plays to approximately 7,191 yards and Par 71. The field includes 9 of the top 10 players in the world golf rankings and all 30 of the top players in the FedEx Cup Standings (as of April 8). Plenty of top-tier golfers in the mid-range odds of greater than 25/1 can contend and win this week.

Following wins by dark horse picks Max Homa in the Farmers Insurance Open and Adam Svensson in the RSM Classic, there are opportunities to cash in on other players behind the leading favorites. that includes for a top-10 or top-20 finish like dark horse Jason Day at The PLAYERS and Xander Schauffele at The Masters.

RBC Heritage Dark Horse Picks 2023

Beyond the favorites, there are plenty of capable longshots and dark horses that could make a run at the leaderboard and come away with a higher finish or victory on Sunday. After all, did you see Kurt Kitayama win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at 220/1 odds or greater?

Check out the RBC Heritage odds to win along with finishing position odds, tournament matchups and golf props on FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Matt Fitzpatrick (+3000)

Fitzpatrick never contended at The Masters, but he did finish T-10. The 28-year-old Englishman finished T-4 in the 2021 RBC Heritage and has two other top-15 finishes. He was struggling a bit prior to The Masters while dealing with a neck issue, but his approach stats at Augusta were solid and he's a top-tier scrambler. If Fitzpatrick carries that play to Harbour Town, the rest of his stats profile should align for another good week.

2. Shane Lowry (+3100)

Lowry finished T-3 here last year, and he'll be a popular pick this week having also finished T-3 in 2019 and T-9 in 2021. Each of those finishes followed appearances in the Masters Tournament, so there has been no letdown from the 36-year-old Irishman who finished T-16 last week at The Masters. Lowry ranks top-5 in Strokes Gained (SG) Total over his 18 rounds at Harbour Town. Even with the strongest-ever field this week at the RBC Heritage, Lowry can sustain and fire another strong finish with top-10 odds returning better than a 3/1 payoff.

3. Tommy Fleetwood (+5000)

Fleetwood finished 33rd last week at The Masters, and we'll give him another shot as a dark horse this week. The 32-year-old Englishman has incredibly never won on the PGA Tour despite numerous top-10 finishes in majors and possessing solid skills. Especially in Short Game and Around the Green, where he's gained strokes in all tournaments this year (ARG). Same with his solid Tee-to-Green game, and his putting has been good enough as well. Fleetwood's game lines up well for Harbour Town, and he finished T10 here last year and was able to go low with a round of 64, and also 65 in his 2021 appearance.
