Dan Campbell Has Hilarious Reaction to Penei Sewell's Game-Clinching Catch

The Detroit Lions had to pull out all the stops to put away the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. That included dialing up a trick pass to offensive tackle Penei Sewell on a crucial third down that ended up sealing the game.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell had a hilarious take on the play after the contest.

Campbell told reporters, with a smile, that Sewell could be a "Hall-of-Fame tight end if he wanted to lose a little bit of weight." Given how great Sewell is at protecting his quarterback, he likely isn't interested in exploring that possibility, but it's intriguing to think about that alternate reality.

Sewell was praised as an athlete coming out of college, which has helped him make an instant impact on the O-line in the pros. He showcased his wider capabilities on Sunday, when Detroit decided to put him in motion and threw his way on an important third down. The bold call paid off, as Sewell hauled in the pass and rumbled for a nine-yard gain and earned a first down in the process.

The Lions then milked the clock from there and hit another field goal after Sewell's huge reception, increasing their lead to 34-23 and putting Minnesota out of it for good.

After passing this big test with flying colors, it'd be no surprise to see the sneaky Lions find more ways to utilize Sewell's pass-catching talents down the stretch.
