Crazy Stat Shows Kirk Cousins is Most Clutch QB in the NFL

Updated:

There's been this long-standing narrative that Kirk Cousins can't win the big game. When the chips are down, most fans and analysts seem to think Cousins will find a way to blow it. But the numbers say otherwise.

In fact, just looking at his fourth-quarter performance, the numbers show Cousins has been the most clutch quarterback in the NFL.

Cousins boasts a ridiculous 136.4 passer rating in the fourth quarter. That puts him significantly ahead of Patrick Mahomes, who has the second-best rating in that regard (128.5).

For reference, Aaron Rodgers has the best passer rating in the NFL right now, and he's "only" at 117.6 for the season. Rodgers also has the best single-season passer rating of all time (122.5), which he did back in 2011. Cousins' fourth-quarter performance has been significantly better than either of those marks – though it's obviously a small sample size.

Vikings fans have to love seeing their franchise QB lighting it up in clutch situations.
