Cory Trice Scouting Report
Trice set a couple of personal milestones in his final year at Purdue. The promising DB suited up in 13 games (his previous best was eight), finishing with 34 tackles, 2 interceptions (one for a Pick-6) and a career-high 10 broken-up passes.
Trice has terrific ball skills, proven by his double-digit defended pass total this past fall. He's quick on his feet and can stay with wide receivers running downfield. He also isn't afraid to be an aggressive tackler thanks to his 6-foot-3, 206-pound frame.
Keeping that in mind, Trice doesn't have long-distance, which is something that opposing teams will exploit. His hip movement is also far from fluid, sometimes putting him out of position.
Cory Trice NFL Draft Prediction
Cory Trice's draft stock is varied. On one hand, three experts have him as a sixth-round pick. On the other, two see him going as early as the third round.
I like the idea of the Baltimore Ravens drafting the Purdue product. The Ravens had one of the NFL's worst secondaries last season and are in desperate need of a playmaking starting cornerback. If Trice can bring what made him successful at Purdue to Baltimore, the Ravens will already be in better shape.
With his age playing a factor, I could see Trice going to Baltimore in the fourth round.
Prediction: Baltimore Ravens (Round 4, 124th overall)
