Commanders Announce Chase Young's Official Status Ahead of Monday Night Football

Updated:

The Washington Commanders are ready for a tough Monday Night Football clash against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10. Unfortunately, they'll have to do so without standout defensive lineman Chase Young.

On Monday, the Commanders revealed Young's official status ahead of this matchup.

Young is not ready to fully return from the IR. It was a year ago, today, the star pass-rusher suffered a torn ACL and prematurely ended his sophomore campaign.

The Commanders will not activate Young for MNF. Sources confirmed to NFL insider Ian Rapoport that Young "is close to being ready" and there's still a "real chance" he'll make his 2022 debut in Week 11.

Washington is considered a hefty 11.5-point underdog against the Eagles, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
