Colts Reveal QB Plans for Week 17 After Nick Foles' 3-INT Game

Updated:

After a season of quarterback woes, Indianapolis Colts fans were excited to see what Nick Foles could do on Monday night. That feeling quickly turned into disappointment as Foles played just as poorly as every other Colts QB this season, throwing 3 interceptions in a blowout loss.

Head coach Jeff Saturday has now weighed in on the team's starting quarterback situation for Week 17 after Foles' lackluster debut.

Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Week 17

Saturday confirmed to reporters on Tuesday that Foles remains the team's starter. This backs up previous reports that said Foles will start the final three games for the Colts.

it sounds like Foles' poor outing won't send him back to the bench for Indianapolis. The team has exhausted its options with Foles, Matt Ryan and Sam Ehlinger all drawing starts this season. With a 4-10-1 record to show for it, it's obvious the Colts' QB solution isn't on the current roster.

Foles playing like he did in Week 16 for the remainder of the season would actually benefit Indianapolis, who currently own a top-five draft pick. A pair of losses to close the campaign would lock in a shot at one of the highly touted prospects in next year's class, so making Foles the captain of the tank is a sound strategy.

The Colts hope Foles has a better performance in Week 17 against the New York Giants, who are currently listed as 5.5-point home favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
