Clippers vs. Wizards Game Info

  • Date: Saturday, December 17, 2022
  • Time: 4:00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Crypto.com Arena -- Los Angeles, California
  • Coverage: NBCS-DC and KTLA

Seven matchups are on the NBA's Saturday, Dec. 17 schedule, including a clash at Crypto.com Arena between the Los Angeles Clippers (17-14) and Washington Wizards (11-18).

The Clippers are coming off a loss to the Phoenix Suns but have still won three of their last four games. Meanwhile, the Wizards are mired in an eight-game losing streak and can't seem to do anything right.

Can Los Angeles bounce back and start a new winning streak? Or will Washington finally taste victory for the first time in December?

Clippers vs. Wizards Odds & Spread

  • All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
  • Moneyline: LAC: (-270) | WAS: (+220)
  • Spread: LAC: -7 (-110) | WAS: +7 (-110)
  • Total: 222 -- Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

The Clippers enter this contest as clear home favorites on the moneyline and spread per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 4 p.m. ET clash also features an over/under of 222 points, which is the second-lowest of Saturday's projected totals.

Clippers vs. Wizards Betting Trends

  • The Clippers compiled a 38-42-2 ATS record last year.
  • Against the spread, as underdogs of 6.5 points or greater, the Wizards went 9-12 last year.
  • Clippers games hit the over 40 out of 82 times last season.
  • In 82 Wizards games last season, 45 of them went over the total.

Clippers vs. Wizards Prediction & Pick

The Wizards have struggled during their skid for multiple reasons, but one of the biggest is that their three-point defense has been awful. Opponents have shot 37.2% from behind the arc over their last eight games, which is the third-highest mark in the NBA during that stretch.

Now Washington will face Los Angeles, which is averaging 11.9 threes (No. 13) on 36.3% accuracy (No. 11). On top of that, the Clips have won six of their last seven games against the Wiz, averaging a whopping 126.0 points on .494/.433/.838 shooting. Considering how the latter only averaged 115.7 PPG over that span, it's easy to see why the Clippers have dominated.

Furthermore, Washington hasn't beaten LA on the road since February 2008, losing 14 straight road games to the Clippers. With the way that the Wizards have been playing lately, I fully expect that trend to continue.

Final Score Prediction: Clippers: 114 | Wizards: 103

Clippers vs. Wizards Best Bet

A 7-point spread can be intimidating, but the Clippers shouldn't have an issue covering. After all, they've covered the spread in four of their last five games, as well as in six of the last seven against the Wizards. Additionally, Washington is 1-7 ATS during its eight-game skid.

There's also the possibility that the Wizards could be without their best player, Bradley Beal, who has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. With Washington being outscored by an average of 9.2 points in that stretch, taking the Clippers at -7 is the way to go.

Bet: Clippers -7 (-110)
