Christian Yelich Speaks on Recurring Back Issue

Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich has been dealing with on and off back issues for a while now, and it caused him to miss significant time last season. Unfortunately, those issues have flared up once again. However, according to Yelich, it's not going to be nearly as bad this time.

Yelcih explained that it's in a different spot this time, so Brewers fans can take a sigh of relief knowing not even Yelich himself sees this as a major issue this time around.

Christian Yelich Injury Update

Yelich hasn't played since July 10, but he's still just listed as day-to-day. Anytime you can avoid a trip to the IL, it's good news. Although, the team and Yelich will have to be careful, back issues can be unpredictable and lingering, as I'm sure they both know from experience.

No one knows his body like Yelich does, and after his past back issues, it's likely both he and the franchise are planning to be as cautious as possible, especially considering the Brewers currently hold a 2-game lead over a talented Cardinals team in a tight NL Central.

This will be something to keep tabs on as Yelich works his way back, but the All-Star break coming up at the start of next week is a good sign for Yelich and any other player nursing some nagging injuries as they prepare for the stretch run in August and September.
