Christian McCaffrey has given fantasy managers solid results over the first three weeks of the season, all while staying relatively healthy. That milestone appears to be in jeopardy, though, after Wednesday's ominous news.

Christian McCaffrey Injury Update

McCaffrey is dealing with a thigh injury, and it casts a cloud over his Week 4 fantasy outlook.

McCaffrey officially logged a DNP on Wednesday due to the thigh issue. This development is certainly enough to put McCaffrey managers on edge given his history of injuries. Though Wednesday is usually his scheduled maintenance day after games, he's been present at practice during previous weeks. This week, however, CMC was absent, adding to concerns.

McCaffrey has popped up on the injury report previously this season due to a cut on his shin and ankle stiffness, though those weren't enough to keep him away from practice or games. This issue sounds like it could be a threat, but it's still early in the week so there's no reason for total panic just yet.

The fantasy darling has been productive in 2022, though he hasn't impressed those who spent a top draft pick on him. He currently ranks as RB11 in PPR scoring after recording 300 yards from scrimmage and 1 touchdown to this point.

Managers should keep a close eye on CMC's status throughout the week. The stud RB getting in a limited practice at the very least on Thursday or Friday would bode well for him playing on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

In the meantime, those with an open bench spot or two should consider picking up D'Onta Foreman or Chuba Hubbard as McCaffrey insurance. Both backups have recorded just 4 carries apiece in 2022, but they'd have a chance to absorb the majority of the 20 touches per game CMC would leave behind in his absence.
