Chiefs Get Big JuJu Smith-Schuster Injury Update Ahead of Super Bowl 57

Updated:

The Kansas City Chiefs came out of their AFC Championship game win over the Cincinnati Bengals banged up, especially on offense. They're currently dealing with injuries to multiple wideouts in Kadarius Toney and JuJu Smith Schuster.

JuJu Smith Schuster Injury Update

On Wednesday, the Chiefs got some excellent news on the latter. Smith-Schuster was a full participant at Wednesday's practice. He is nursing a knee injury he suffered in the AFC Championship game.

The early outlook on Smith-Schuster was grim, as reports surfaced he was having trouble walking back to the locker room.

With it now looking like Smith-Schuster will play, along with Toney, the Chiefs' receiving corps will be close to full health coming into their matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Kansas City is going to need it going up against a stout defense like Philly's. The Eagles' defense led the NFL in sacks per game and ranked No. 4 in the NFL in scoring defense. Both Toney and Smith-Schuster present Patrick Mahomes with opportunities to get the ball out quickly and make moves in the open field after the catch.

The Chiefs are currently 1.5-point underdogs against the Eagles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest Super Bowl odds.
