The Kansas City Chiefs have managed to go 4-1 despite the absence of an important special teamer, kicker Harrison Butker. The six-year veteran picked up an ankle issue in Week 1 and hasn't returned to live game action since.

Kansas City went through two different kickers in the last month, including a serviceable run from Matthew Wright, who went a perfect 8-for-8 on extra points and 3-of-4 on field goal tries.

Fortunately, the Chiefs received some amazing news on their No. 1 kicking option on Thursday.

Harrison Butker Injury

According to Chiefs insider Adam Teicher, special teams coordinator Dave Toub "expects" Butker to suit up in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills "as long as we don't have any setbacks."

In a matchup against Buffalo, Kansas City will need every ounce of offense it can muster, including in the kicking game. The Bills also rank second in Football Outsiders' total defense metric and have given up the fewest points in the NFL thus far (61).

Opponents have tried the fourth-fewest field goal attempts (6) against Buffalo thus far, highlighting the importance of netting three points when given the opportunity. Butker is the best option in that regard for Andy Reid's team.

As it stands, the Chiefs enter this Week 6 tilt as 2.5-point home underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds -- KC's first time as a home underdog with Patrick Mahomes as starting quarterback. Could a Harrison Butker field goal prove the difference? Only time will tell.
