Celtics vs Warriors Game 5 Info

2021-22 NBA Playoffs — NBA Finals Game 5 (Series Tied 2-2)
Boston Celtics (51-31, 23-18 Away) vs. Golden State Warriors (53-29, 31-10 Home)
Date: Monday, June 13, 2022
Time: 9 p.m. ET
Venue: Chase Center — San Francisco, CA
Coverage: ABC

The Boston Celtics had a great opportunity to take a 3-1 series lead on Friday night, but they couldn't stop the Golden State Warriors from evening the series. To be more precise, they just couldn't stop Stephen Curry from doing what he does best: score.

Curry's 43-point effort helped propel the Warriors to a 107-97 victory over the Celtics, tying up the NBA Finals up at two games apiece as the series shifts back to California. Momentum is firmly on Golden State's side, but it remains to be seen if they can capitalize on it.

Celtics vs Warriors Odds & Spread

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: BOS: (+136) | GSW: (-162)
Spread: BOS: +3.5 (-110) | GSW: -3.5 (-110)
Total: 212 — Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)
Odds to Win NBA Finals: BOS: (+125) | GSW: (-150)

Once again, there isn't too much of a change in the odds compared to Game 4. The Celtics were 4-point home-court favorites on Friday, whereas the Warriors are favored by 3.5 in Game 5. The total has dropped, though, moving from 214.5 to 212.

The biggest change here is reflected in the odds to win the 2021-22 NBA Finals. The Celtics were favored at -170 before Game 4, but have fallen to +125. Meanwhile, the Warriors have shifted from +140 to being the -150 favorites.

NBA Finals MVP Odds 2022

All NBA Finals MVP odds are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Stephen Curry (-160)
Jayson Tatum (+200)
Jaylen Brown (+650)
Marcus Smart (+10000)
Derrick White (+12000)
Andrew Wiggins (+13000)
Robert Williams (+23000)
Al Horford (+23000)
Klay Thompson (+44000)
Jordan Poole (+49000)
Draymond Green (+49000)

Jayson Tatum was the +120 favorite to be named Finals MVP heading into Game 4, but it's no shock that Curry's iconic performance has him sitting as the new -160 favorite. The 34-year-old has been the best player in the series and even if the Warriors end up losing, it'd be interesting to see if Curry could become the first player since Jerry West in 1969 to be named NBA Finals MVP on the losing team.

The best value that you could probably get here is by taking Jaylen Brown at +650. Tatum might have the best odds of all Celtics players, but Brown has been the slightly better player and more consistent shooter this series. If Boston finds a way to swing things back in its favor, Brown is certainly a player worth targeting.

Celtics vs Warriors Prediction & Pick

All NBA win probability predictions and picks are according to ESPN's Basketball Power Index (BPI).
Prediction: Golden State Warriors win (51.8%)

ESPN's Basketball Power Index has been favoring the Celtics more often than not this series, so it's intriguing to see them projecting a Warriors win.

The Chase Center can be a tough place to play for visiting teams and that's only going to be more difficult with the building buzzing following Curry's Game 4 showing. The Celtics have proven that they can win on the road, but Curry is a man possessed and it's going to take a monumental effort to stop him.

Final Score Prediction: Warriors: 108 | Celtics: 102

Celtics vs Warriors Betting Trends

- Boston is 13-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last 15 road games.
- Golden State is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games.
- The total has hit the under in eight of Boston's last nine road games against Golden State.
- The total has hit the over in five of Golden State's last seven games against Eastern opponents.
- Boston is 2-5 straight up in its last seven games played in June.
- Golden State is 12-1 straight up in its last 13 home games.

The betting trends do a good job of illustrating how the Celtics vs. Warriors games tend to be low-scoring affairs when played in California. In fact, the two teams have combined for an average of 208.3 points in their last eight games when Golden State is the home team.

Speaking of the Warriors at home, they've only lost one of their last 13 games at the Chase Center, which happens to be their defeat in Game 1 of the Finals. Considering how dominant they've been there as of late, it wouldn't be surprising if the trend continues.

Celtics vs Warriors Best Bet

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

When it comes to prop bets, how can you not immediately go with Stephen Curry and his point total? FanDuel Sportsbook has it set at 31.5 for Game 5, making it an absolute no-brainer to take the over at -108.

Curry is already averaging a series-high 34.3 points in the NBA Finals — a good amount above the total. He's scored at least 29 points in seven of his last eight games against the Celtics and even though he failed to reach the over on a couple of those occasions, he's just playing too well to doubt.

Bet Stephen Curry Points: Over 31.5 (-108)
