Cardinals Get Worrisome Kyler Murray Injury Update Ahead of Week 10

The Arizona Cardinals will be fighting to stay alive in the NFC West in a Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The only problem is that they will likely be without their starting quarterback. Kyler Murray is not expected to start on Sunday as he continues to deal with a lingering hamstring injury.

Murray had been listed as questionable to play throughout the past week and did return to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday. NFL insider Ian Rapoport explained that the 25-year-old QB is still "moving very gingerly", though. The team is holding out hope by calling him a game-time decision.

A hamstring injury is especially tough to play through for a player that regularly relies on his legs to earn first downs. Murray has logged 359 rushing yards on the season, which is the fifth-highest mark among NFL QBs. It's a mark that also outweighs that of any running back on the Cardinals roster.

If Murray can't give it a go on Sunday, the start will be given to backup Colt McCoy. McCoy has posted a 10-23 record across 33 career starts in 13 NFL seasons, but he did win two of his three starts for Arizona in 2021. McCoy tallied 740 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception in those games.

Keep in mind Arizona has taken down the Rams just once over its last 12 games against the divisional foe. However, LA is expected to be without their starting QB as well. The Cardinals are slated as 3-point road underdogs with odds set at +136 to pull off the upset, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
