The Open Championship was the final major of 2022, and the PGA Tour returns to the states for three more tournaments ahead of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

This week it's the fourth edition of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities North of Minneapolis. The 7,431 yard Par 71 Arnold Palmer-designed parkland course has water in play on 15 holes and is among the easiest putting greens on Tour. Tons of birdies and low scores are in the forecast.

Tringale has made the cut in all three starts in the 3M Open, and his best finish was T-3 in 2020. Last year, the 34-year-old held the 54-hole lead before faltering with a final round 74.

Tringale's best single-round score in the 3M Open was a 63 in Round 3 of the 2020 event on his way to a T-3 finish at -16 under par.

Tringale is still shooting for his first PGA Tour win. But the veteran continues to play pretty solid golf despite some poor rankings in the key strokes gained stats of off-the-tee and putting, which he is outside the top-140 over his last 50 rounds. His ball striking and short game stats don't match-up well either outside the top-100.

Yet Tringale overcame the stats models last year to hold the 54-hole lead in this event before fading badly on Sunday. He had a solid tee-to-green performance in this event last year, and will need to duplicate that to finish top-10 or top-20. But I'm not betting on it as he returns from back-to-back competitions in Scotland the past two weeks.
