Busch Light Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Features Sarah McLachlan's Survival Skills

Updated:

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty of star-studded commercials are on the way. Busch Light got in on the fun by paying homage to certain animal-centric commercials involving singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan.

Check out Busch Light's 2023 Super Bowl commercial below:

Busch Light Super Bowl Commercial 2023

The ad opens with Busch Guy (played by actor Gerald Downey) listing three important things to survive the outdoors. The first is food, which is demonstrated by a guy cooking at a campfire. The second is drinks, which leads to a quick flash of a Busch Light six-pack.

The last important aspect is shelter, which leads to Busch Guy being shown in front of a tent. The shelter unzips to reveal Sarah McLachlan inside of it with a wolf as her hit single "Angel" plays. The song is well-known for playing in the background of animal cruelty awareness videos featuring the talented musician.

McLachlan introduces herself before telling the viewer that "for dollars a day, you can help helpless animals find shelter" as an owl, deer and fox are shown. The hilarious moment is interrupted by Busch Guy opening a can of Busch Light, informing McLachlan that she's talking about the wrong shelter and that the animal beside her is a wolf, not a dog.

McLachlan nervously shifts away from the wolf before Busch Guy tells the viewer to head for the mountains.

The Busch Light commercial is a hilarious twist on the animal cruelty ads that McLachlan is known for. During the early 2000s, it was hard watching any channels without being bombarded by images of abused animals while "Angel" plays in the background.

The important thing is that the ad showcases that McLachlan has a tremendous sense of humor. Otherwise, she wouldn't be poking fun at herself. It'll be interesting to see if "Angel" sees an increase in stream plays over the coming days.
