The 2023 NASCAR season begins with an exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. This is the second year the Busch Clash will take place at this venue after previously being held at Daytona International Speedway.

The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum will feature 150 laps on a 0.25-mile track, making this a 37.5-mile race overall. Joey Logano of Team Penske Racing is the reigning winner at this event.

All eyes will be on reigning Cup Series champion Joey Logano in his first race since his magical 2022 season, and he's well equipped to pick up right where he left off. Logano ended last year incredibly hot, racking up two wins over his final four races and three top-six finishes in this span. He has plenty of familiarity with this event in particular, winning it at Daytona in 2017 and in 2022 at the LA Coliseum. I expect the 32-year-old to start his year with a bang and take home the checkered flag once again.

Those looking for a dark horse contender should seriously consider Erik Jones at +5000. He won this event at Daytona in 2020 (in overtime, no less), so he can step up under pressure and knows what it's like to beat out a packed field. Jones started No. 16 last year when the race moved to LA Coliseum, and he ended up placing fourth overall, showing he's a legit threat on this course. Though he didn't end last season as strong as he would've hoped, it'd be no surprise to see him battle for the win to begin this year with some positive momentum.
