Buffalo Bills Training Camp 2022 Dates, Schedule & Location

Updated:

Teams across the NFL are preparing to ramp up for the 2022 regular season with the start of training camp. The Buffalo Bills are one of the first squads to take the field as the preseason nears.

Here's everything Bills fans need to know about training camp this year.

When Does Buffalo Bills Training Camp Start?

Each team has two separate start dates for training camp, as rookies are often required to report a few days before veterans. The Bills and Las Vegas Raiders have the earliest start of teams across the league, with rookies reporting on Monday, July 18.

Then, on Saturday, July 23, Buffalo's veterans are mandated to report for training camp. This gives vets a little under a month to prepare for the team's first preseason game on Aug. 13.

The Bills will make their highly anticipated return to St. John Fisher College for training camp this year. Buffalo hasn't held offseason festivities there since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bills Training Camp Dates 2022

Bills rookies are reporting for training camp on July 18, followed by vets on July 23. Buffalo is then scheduled to host open practices up until Thursday, Aug. 11. That'll be the final day of workouts before preseason play begins.

Buffalo opens its preseason schedule on Saturday, Aug. 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. They'll then play again on Aug. 20 (vs. the Denver Broncos) and Aug. 26 (at the Carolina Panthers) before the regular season begins.

The Bills will suit up on Thursday, Sept. 8 against the Los Angeles Rams to kick off Week 1.

Bills Training Camp News

First-year players like cornerback Kaiir Elam and running back James Cook will report to Buffalo on Monday for training camp. The team's first practice is scheduled for Sunday, since veterans won't arrive until Saturday at the latest.

Elam was one of the standouts from the Bills' minicamp in June, and he'll look to keep that play going ahead of his rookie year. There'll also be plenty of focus on third-year wideout Gabriel Davis as he heads into a potential breakout season.
