Budweiser Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Showcases the Six Degrees of Bud with Kevin Bacon

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty of star-studded commercials are on the way. Budweiser got in on the fun by paying homage to an internet meme with a commercial featuring a voiceover from Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon.

Check out Budweiser's 2023 Super Bowl commercial below:

Budweiser Super Bowl Commercial 2023

The ad opens with the iconic Budweiser jingle before Kevin Bacon says to the viewer, "Who drinks Budweiser? You know the type." He adds that "the people who grind" enjoy the alcoholic beverage, showcasing a pair of construction workers giving a six-pack to a cook at a food truck.

The ad then transitions to that same cook bringing the remaining beers to a pick-up basketball game at an outside court. Bacon adds that Budweiser is "for those who don't back down."

Budweiser is also for "the ones that don't quit," Bacon declares as a shot of a recording studio is shown. It's not just any old producer in the studio, though. Instead, it's multi-awarding winning hip-hop producer Metro Boomin, who has worked with the likes of Drake, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj and more.

After Metro Boomin and his crew are handed a Budweiser, the remaining beers are taken outside to a backyard party. Bacon adds that the drink is for people that share the same spirit and beer before saying, "This bud's for you" as an actor extends a bottle to the camera.

Kevin Bacon Super Bowl Commercial

The Budweiser Super Bowl commercial is a play on the "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" meme. The general idea is that someone or a group of people will name a random actor before trying to connect them to Bacon through shared co-stars and films.

Instead of focusing on Bacon (who never physically appears in the commercial), Budweiser uses the commercial to showcase the "six degrees of Bud" and how the beverage connects people from all walks of life.

It's a simple, yet effective commercial that capitalizes on Bacon's iconic voice. It won't be surprising if the ad also revives the "six degrees of Bacon" meme in the coming days.
