Bryson Stott Tweets Hilarious Reaction to Trea Turner Signing

Updated:

Monday turned out to be a big day for top free-agent signings. The Philadelphia Phillies made a huge splash in the afternoon by signing star shortstop Trea Turner to a 11-year, $300 million deal, immediately elevating a roster that just made the World Series.

It's safe to say infielder Bryson Stott is excited about his new teammate.

Stott tweeted out an image of him alongside Turner in a game this past season. However, he covered the Los Angeles Dodgers jersey Turner is wearing in that moment with a rudimentary Phillies jersey to celebrate his arrival in Philadelphia.

This is a downright hilarious way for Stott to welcome his new teammate. The 25-year-old was quick to show his excitement as well, posting the image to Twitter just 20 minutes after Turner's signing was reported.

Adding a player of Turner's talent is sure to make the Philly faithful hyped. He's earned numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including two All-Star nods, a Silver Slugger and a World Series win in 2019.

Turner's championship experience makes him a perfect addition to a team that was on the cusp of adding another title this past season. He immediately boosts this lineup and should help fill the gap left by Bryce Harper while the latter recovers from elbow surgery in 2023.
