Bryan Bresee Scouting Report

Bresee came to Clemson as the No. 1 recruit in the 2020 class and wasted no time making an impact at the college level. He finished with 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks as a freshman. Bresee tore his ACL only four games into his sophomore season, but still earned third-team All-ACC honors.

The Maryland native bounced back from his injury with a solid junior campaign this past fall, logging 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 10 games. His efforts earned him a spot on the All-ACC second team as he played a crucial role in a defense that finished 19th in yards allowed per game (330.5).

Bresee's physicality sticks out when watching his film as he regularly breaks through lateral contact to suddenly get into the quarterback's face. Additional highlighted strengths include a nonstop motor that allows him to keep up with mobile quarterbacks and shifty running backs during extended plays.

There are flaws to Bresee's game as he plays best as a penetration rusher, which isn't going to fit into the scheme of every NFL defense. A lengthy injury past also means he needs to prove he can stay healthy. That said, Bresee has the foundation of a standout edge rusher and could excel under the right coaching staff.

Bryan Bresee NFL Draft Prediction

Bresee is a dangerous pass rusher and regularly fought through double teams in his time at Clemson. A lack of experience due to injuries is a rightfully concerning part of his game, but this is a player that draws attention away from others. That is something every NFL coordinator should be salivating over.

It makes the idea of Bresee joining the best NFL defensive line from last season line up as a realistic outcome. Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman has stressed the importance of building his team through the trenches and Bresee could help replace the production left behind by Javon Hargrave.

Of course, the Eagles have the pick arsenal to get Bresee on their roster, too. Philadelphia is not going to reach for the Clemson defensive tackle at No. 10 overall, but it could select Bresee at No. 30 overall if he remains on the board. Roseman could also move up a few spots to ensure he gets his guy.

Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles (Round 1, 30th overall)
