Browns Stats With and Without Nick Chubb Are Mind Blowing

Updated:

It's always great to have your starting running back out on the field and playing, but it may mean even more to the Cleveland Browns than you think. The Browns rushing statistics this season with and without Nick Chubb playing reveal just how important he is to the team.

Without Chubb, the Browns are averaging under 100 rushing yards per game and haven't scored a single rushing touchdown. On the other hand, they average over 200 rushing yards per game and have scored 9 rushing touchdowns when Chubb is active.

It isn't often you see such a drastic change in the ground game thanks to one specific player. Chubb's backup Kareem Hunt has done a great job filling in for him, but even he seems to excel more when Chubb is playing. This one-two punch coming out of the backfield has proven to be among the best in the NFL.

The third year running back out of Georgia is averaging a career-high 6.1 yards per attempt this season (No. 1 among running backs). In fact, Chubb is averaging 92.2 rushing yards and a touchdown per game in his five games played this season. That is the definition of consitent production.

The Browns are currently 6-3 on the season and right in the middle of the AFC Wild Card race. It seems like having Chubb back and healthy will only boost their chances of securing a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
