Broncos vs Chiefs Week 17 Game Info

2022 NFL Regular Season — Week 17
Denver Broncos (4-11, 1-7 Away) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (12-3, 6-1 Home)
Date: Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET
Venue: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium — Kansas City, MO
Coverage: CBS

The Denver Broncos will aim to pull off a major upset when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17 NFL action. The Broncos are coming off a brutal 51-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Quarterback Russell Wilson struggled as he gave the Rams great field position with 3 interceptions.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs took care of business with a 24-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16. It was another big day for tight end Travis Kelce as he logged 113 yards on 6 receptions. Safety Juan Thornhill nabbed an interception on a defense that allowed Seattle to reach the red zone only twice.

Broncos vs Chiefs Odds & Spread

All NFL betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: DEN: (+530) | KC: (-750)
Spread: DEN: +13.5 (-115) | KC: -13.5 (-105)
Total: 44.5 — Over: (-115) | Under: (-105)

The Chiefs enter this contest as heavy home favorites on the moneyline and spread on FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 1 p.m. ET clash also features one of the higher totals on the Week 17 slate at 44.5 points.

Broncos vs Chiefs Prediction & Pick

This is one of the biggest mismatches on the Week 17 slate. The Chiefs are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are averaging 29.2 points per game (No. 2 in NFL). The Broncos have already been eliminated from postseason contention and are averaging 15.5 points per game (No. 32 in NFL).

Keep in mind Kansas City has also dominated this AFC West rivalry as of late. It has won 14 straight games against Denver dating back to the 2015 NFL season. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes playing at an MVP level, even a veteran Denver pass defense stands no chance on Sunday afternoon.

The Broncos have lost 10 of their last 11 road games, so I'll take the Chiefs with confidence here.

Final Score Prediction: Broncos: 14 | Chiefs: 31

Broncos vs Chiefs Betting Trends

- Denver is 0-10 straight up in its last 10 games against Kansas City.
- The total has hit the under in 11 of Denver's last 15 games.
- Kansas City is 10-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last 14 games against Denver.
- The total has hit the under in each of Kansas City's last five home games.

Broncos vs Chiefs Best Bet

Backing the over is an intriguing option in this matchup, but trusting the Broncos to hold up their end of the bargain is risky. Shifting gears to the Chiefs' team total is a much better idea. Denver just gave up a ridiculous 51 points to a Rams offense led by a QB that has been in LA only a few weeks now.

Its defense was simply destroyed and faces one of the the best offenses in football in Week 17. The Chiefs have tallied at least 30 points in seven of their 15 games this season. That includes when they defeated Denver, 34-28, in Week 14. It shouldn't be too difficult to replicate that kind of performance.

Bet: Kansas City Chiefs Total Points Over 29.5 (-108)
