Brewers Get Fantastic Update on Willy Adames' Injury Rehab

Updated:

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames hasn't played since the middle of May as he's been stuck on the 10-day injured list with an ankle and quad injury. Fortunately, Milwaukee has gone 10-7 in his absence but will welcome back the heart of their infield defense with open arms.

Adames is currently working through a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, and the Brewers received some awesome news on his progress on Friday morning.

Adames played four innings at shortstop on Thursday night, going 1-for-3 at the dish in an official resumption of his rehab.

He began this rehab assignment on Sunday, May 29, before hitting a small pause thanks to some pain in his quad. The early reports from this resumption are all positive and Adames will continue building back his stamina for a full nine innings.

Adames' season did not get off to the best start, but the hope is he returns fully healthy and ready to make a difference at the plate. The 26-year-old shortstop was slashing .208/.304/.462 through the first 35 games, a far cry from his .285/.366/.521 slash line in 99 games a year ago.
