Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Contenders

One of the year's biggest weekends in horse racing is upon us with the 2022 Breeders' Cup bringing 14 races across two days on Nov. 4-5.

The races kick off on Friday with several events fans and bettors are looking forward to. That's when the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf goes down at 5:40 p.m. ET with a cool $1 million at stake.

The contenders were announced on Wednesday, so here's everything you need to know about the field before wagering on the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf on FanDuel Racing.

1. Andthewinneris

Breeder: Susan Moulton
Owner: Susan Naylor Moulton

Andthewinneris has lived up to his name in 2022. He's won half of his starts so far, taking first at Keeneland twice this year.

2. Battle of Normandy

Battle of Normandy has fought his way to two podium finishes this year. He logged first- and second-place finishes at Saratoga in August.

3. Cairo (IRE)

Owner: Derrick Smith, Mrs. John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Westerberg Limited (Michael Kuessner)

Cairo will look to translate his international success to U.S. soil. He's won twice and recorded to second-place finishes in four starts this year.

4. Gaslight Dancer

Gaslight Dancer has success earlier this month, placing second at Belmont. Before that, this two-year-old won at Kentucky Downs.

5. I'm Very Busy

I'm Very Busy has only logged two starts, but he's made the most of them, winning and earning second so far in 2022.

6. Lachaise

Owner: Lawrence Goichman

Lachaise has two podium finishes on his resume this year. He took third at Belmont earlier this month and captured first at Saratoga in August.

7. Major Dude

Owner: Spendthrift Farm (Eric Gustavson)

Major Dude's got momentum on his side heading into this race. He recorded his second win this year at Belmont on Oct. 2.

8. Nagirroc

Breeder: Chervenell Thoroughbreds LLC
Owner: Madaket Stables LLC (Sol Kumin), Little Red Feather Racing (William Koch) & William Strauss

Nagirroc's gone three-for-three in terms of top finishes across three starts this year. He's won his last two races and added a second-place finish to begin his 2022 season.

9. Oxymore

Oxymore is coming off of a second-place finish in September. Prior to that, he won his first two races of the year.

10. Packs a Wahlop

Packs a Wahlop is among the top in wins heading into this race. He's got three first-place finishes to his name in 2022, which have all come in each of his last three outings.

11. Really Good

Really Good's been really good at earning a top finish in 2022. He's got a win and two third-place showings to his name so far.

12. Reckoning Force

Reckoning Force has been among the busiest of the entrants, logging five starts already this year. The two-year-old's recorded finishes of first and third (x2).

13. Silver Knott (GB)

Silver Knott has found plenty of success internationally, racking up three wins in five 2022 starts.

14. Victoria Road (IRE)

Victoria Road enters the Breeders cup with three straight wins to his name.

Webslinger has positive momentum going for him, with a win and second-place finish in each of his last two starts.

16. Mo Stash

Mo Stash will look to get back to his winning ways in this one. He took home first in August at Ellis Park, but has gone on to finish fourth and second after.
