Breeders' Cup 2022 Distaff Picks at Keeneland on FanDuel Racing

The biggest races of the year are on Saturday, Nov. 5 for Day 2 of the 2022 Breeders' Cup at Keeneland.

The Longines Distaff at 1 1/8 miles is Race 9, and one of nine Breeders' Cup races Saturday.

1. Nest and Malathaat, Race 9

What a great edition of the Distaff we have here as the division leaders from the three-year-old and 4+ ranks, Nest (9/5) and Malathaat (3/1), square off. They both come from the Todd Pletcher barn, and he holds a very strong hand with jockeys Irad Ortiz, Jr. and John Velazquez riding.

The powerful filly Nest has highly tactical speed and has finished first or second in nine of 10 starts, plus a third-place finish against the boys in the Belmont Stakes. Sired by the great Curlin, she gets top billing slightly over Malathaat, who has hit the Exacta 12 times in 13 starts and is 3-for-3 on this surface.

Search Results (9/2) offers some value and the top longshot is Blue Stripe (20/1). Search Results is ridden by Flavien Prat for trainer Chad Brown, and she barely lost to Malathaat in the Grade I Personal Ensign during her last start in August after posting a career-best speed figure. She won a Grade 1 race in her only start at Keeneland in April this year.
