The Atlanta Braves are in a tight race with the New York Mets for the NL East crown. The final stretch can be stressful, which is why it's a good thing that Braves fans got a temporary distraction on Wednesday when the MLB released its official slate of games for the 2023 season.

Braves Schedule 2023

The Braves will start things off on the road for the fourth time in the last five seasons. This time, things begin on Thursday, March 30 with a game against the Washington Nationals, starting a three-game series between the NL East rivals.

Fans must wait a week after the Braves season opener to see them play a game at Truist Park. Atlanta plays their first home game against the San Diego Padres on Apr. 6, kickstarting a four-game series. Another notable series is Freddie Freeman's second trip back to Atlanta as the LA Dodgers are in town from May 22-24.

New interleague rules mean the Braves will play each of the other 29 MLB teams at least once per year. Some interesting matchups against American League teams include series against the Toronto Blue Jays (May 12-14) and New York Yankees (Aug. 14-16), as well as a 2021 World Series rematch with the Houston Astros (Apr. 21-23).

The Braves play six straight home games to close out the 2023 campaign. First, they'll play the Chicago Cubs from Sept. 26-28 before closing out against the Washington Nationals from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

For now, the Braves must focus on their remaining 2022 MLB schedule and potentially winning back-to-back titles. FanDuel Sportsbook sees the latter as a real possibility, giving Atlanta the fifth-best (+1000) 2022 World Series odds.
