Brandon Staley Goes to Bat for Joey Bosa's Sideline Tantrums

Everything starting coming apart at the seams for Joey Bosa and the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night. While there's plenty of blame to go around for every player on the roster and coach on the staff, Bosa has emerged as a scapegoat for his sideline tantrum that resulted in a crucial penalty late in the loss.
Head coach Brandon Staley addressed the issues surrounding his defensive captain, and surprisingly went to bat for the dominant pass rusher.
On Joey Bosa's multiple unsportsmanlike conduct fouls (including the one that moved a key two-point conversion from the two to the one), coach Brandon Staley says Bosa was "frustrated" by a "bunch of things." https://t.co/Aw9uzQk7Ny

“I think he was frustrated. I think he felt like there were a bunch of things that kind of accumulated throughout the game and tried to talk through it with the officials. But we can’t lose our composure like that. We need to make sure that we stay on the high side of things and we can’t hurt the team that way.”
- Brandon Staley
Staley does finally address the behavior at the end of this quote, but seems much more interested on defending Bosa's actions. But, a defensive captain drawing crucial unsportsmanlike penalties in the heat of a crucial playoff gmae? Unacceptable.
Below is a video of Bosa's tantrum. It's not a great look for the four-time Pro Bowl, even if the referees totally screwed Los Angeles at the end of this contest.
Joey Bosa lost the Chargers this game. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from a captain. This unsportsmanlike conduct lead to 👉 Jacksonville 2pt conversion 👉 Game winning field goal.
