Braeden Daniels Scouting Report
Braeden Daniels heads into the 2023 NFL Draft following a first-team All-Pac-12 performance this past fall. The promising offensive tackle played 966 offensive snaps over 14 games, surrendering just one quarterback hit and 14 hurries without allowing a sack.
Daniels is an athletic o-lineman whose lateral movement helps him fill in holes as a blocker. He doesn't get beat often but when he does, he has the quickness to get back into position. He's also versatile, having spent time at both tackle positions as well as left guard.
He isn't a perfect prospect, though. His footwork could use some work, highlighted by how he can get unbalanced while blocking. That's not even to mention how he seems to tire out easily the longer a run play goes on.
Braeden Daniels NFL Draft Prediction
Despite his shortcomings, draft experts have high hopes for Braeden Daniels. Three of the five highlighted mock drafts have him being selected in either Round 3 or 4.
The Detroit Lions have one of the NFL's best offensive lines, but adding more depth wouldn't hurt. Injuries can happen at any time, so having a promising backup like Daniels in the wings wouldn't hurt. Besides, all but three of their o-linemen are set to hit free agency following the 2023 campaign.
They may have to move up to draft him, but Daniels' upside is worth the cost.
Prediction: Detroit Lions (Round 5, 152nd overall)
