A donation total that stood at $95,000 on Friday morning has jumped all the way up to $150,000 just 24 hours later. That is a lot of cash going toward P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative to provide support for patients in Western New York. It will undoubtedly make a huge difference in their lives.
Fans have been sharing screenshots on social media of $16.88 donations, which signifies the jersey numbers of Luke (16) and Dawson (88). The hashtag #LukesLegacy has become a trending topic across Twitter, too. It hasn't taken long for the story to make its way to all NFL fan bases.
P.U.N.T Executive Director Gwen Mysiak said the donations are coming with personalized heartfelt messages that she plans to share with the Knox family. As many as 10 donations per minute were coming in late Friday night. It'll be amazing to see how high the total can grow over the weekend.
This isn't the first time Knox has worked with P.U.N.T.. His popular "Knox Sox" initiative provides funds for pediatric cancer patients to get custom non-slip socks. Meanwhile, his "Dawson's Locker" initiative allows families fighting pediatric cancer to get the little things they need every day.
Anyone looking to support the Knox family can head over to the P.U.N.T donation page.
