Best Same-Game Parlay for Heat vs Celtics NBA Playoffs Game 2 (Derrick White Steps Up From a Scoring Perspective)

Updated:

The 2022-23 NBA Playoffs continue on Friday night with Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics at 8:30 p.m. ET. There are a ton of ways to get in on the betting action, including making your own same-game parlay on FanDuel Sportsbook.

A same-game parlay is exactly what it sounds like. It involves stringing bets from one game together to create a parlay. Of course, all legs must cash for the parlay to be deemed a winning ticket. With that in mind, here's a look at my best same-game parlay for the Heat-Celtics matchup.

Leg 1: Derrick White to Score 10+ Points (+115)

The Celtics gave up a whopping 123 points in Game 1 as the strategy of having Al Horford and Robert Williams on the floor at the same time did not work out. Miami was able to get to the other floor in transition with little to no deterrence. That bodes well for Derick White's playing time in Game 2 as a smaller lineup seems to be the way to go for head coach Joe Mazzulla. White scored 11 points in Game 1 and is one of the best players on the team when it comes to creating individual shot opportunities. The 28-year-old has tallied at least 10 points in nine of Boston's 14 playoff games.

Leg 2: Jimmy Butler to Record 2+ Steals (-155)

Jimmy Butler was the star of Game 1 and it wasn't just because he dropped a game-high 35 points. The All-Star guard shined on the defensive end of the floor as well, logging a stellar 6 steals. His quick hands and disruptive nature gave Boston's guards fits as they couldn't find a way to sneak by him. Butler has now logged at least 2 steals in eight of his 11 postseason games played. When looking at his career playoff stats, Butler is averaging 1.7 steals per contest. His past success combined with the fact that Boston is allowing 1.9 more steals per game than any other team left in the playoffs makes this a solid leg.

Leg 3: Jaylen Brown — Over 2.5 Made Threes (+102)

It was not Jaylen Brown's best shooting night from beyond the arc in Game 1 as he drained only one of six attempts. However, the volume was there and that is important moving forward. Brown is shooting an impressive 44.7% from three-point range in the 2022-23 postseason and had drained at least a trio of three-pointers in eight of his last 10 games prior to Wednesday night. The Heat finished the regular season ranked 28th in opponent made threes per game (13.1) and have allowed an average of 12.6 makes so far in the playoffs. Look for Brown to take advantage of a subpar perimeter defense.
